Peter Shirley is a Distinguished Scientist at NVIDIA and adjunct professor at the University of Utah in computer science. He has made extensive contributions to interactive photorealistic rendering. He wrote a wide variety of books on the field on rendering, notably on ray tracing.

To be honest, I could have never imagine receiving Peter Shirley on my podcast. The amount of admiration I have for this person is probably the reason I work in the field of graphics. Shirley is the author of the “Ray-Tracing in X” series, a book that introduces ray-tracing to a younger generation. He works at Nvidia and was a professor in various University in USA. Fanboy moment, but how about a whole interview!
